Wow! Momo was started by Sagar Jagdish Daryani and Binod Kumar Homagai in Kolkata. They started selling steamed momos from their 6-by-6 kiosks in Springdale Spencer Mall. Their initial stores were in hypermarkets like Big Bazaar and Spencer’s.
They started selling momos as a bootstrapped business with an initial investment of Rs. 30,000 and grew from 1 store to 40 stores with their own money.
Chef Ramji is the national head chef at Wow! Momo started working with the team in the initial days as a part-time with a salary of Rs.3000, and now he’s earning more than 1.5 Lakh/month.

Wow! Momo has raised a total funding of $135M over 12 rounds.
In 2015, Wow! Momo had raised Rs 10 crore from its first backer, Indian Angel Network, led by Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Saurabh Srivastava, and Ashvin Chadha.
In June,17 Wow! Momo had raised Rs 44 cr, and it was led by Lighthouse Funds and IAN at a valuation of Rs 230 crore.
In September,19 Wow! Momo raised $23 million from the New York-based Tiger Global Management firm at a valuation of $120 million.

Types of Momos Wow! Momo Offered
Wow! Momo offers more than 12 different varieties of momos, available in Steamed, Fried and Pan Fried with three delicious sauces, cheese sauce, molten cheese sauce and schezwan sauce. They offer momos in both veg and non-veg varieties with proper hygiene.
Some of their popular veg varieties include cheese momos, pan-fried momos, molten cheesy momos, tandoori momos, Paneer momo, corn cheese momo, Darjeeling Momos, Momos Au Gratin, and even Momo Sizzlers.

One of Wow! Momo’s biggest attraction is MoBurg, a fun fusion of momos and burgers.

They follow the COCO(Company Owned Company Operated) Business Model. Wow! Momo manages the entire supply chain on its own, from material procurement to processing and manufacturing, and all deliveries.
In each city, they have one central cloud kitchen. All stores of Wow! Momo in each city will be managed by its central cloud kitchen.
By 2024, Wow! Momo had grown to over 600 outlets across several cities, with two more brands: Wow! China (Desi Chinese), Wow Chicken and Wow Kulfi.
